Front Wheel Drive






Front Exhaust Pipes with Catalytic Converters and Front Mufflers

Removing

- Remove the cover - 1 -, disengage the clips sideways to do so.






- Unclip the air duct - 2 -.

- Remove the air filter housing and connecting pipe, while doing this remove the bolt - A -, disconnect the connector - B - and remove the spring clip - C -. When reinstalling, observe the mark - D -.






- Remove the throttle valve control module.

- Disconnect the oxygen sensor electrical connectors - 1 through 4 -.






- Free up the electrical wires to the oxygen sensors.

- Remove the front exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold nuts - arrows - accessible from the top.






- Remove the center noise insulation.






- Remove the drive axle protection for the right drive axle.

- Remove the front exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold nuts - arrows - accessible from the bottom.






Do not bend the coupling elements in the exhaust pipes more than 20° or they could be damaged. Two technicians are needed to perform the removal procedure.

An extension approximately 600 mm long is needed to remove the nuts accessible from below.

- Remove the suspended mount to subframe bolts - arrows -.






- Remove the tunnel braces - A and B -.






- Separate the exhaust system at the clamping sleeve - 1 -.

- Remove the front exhaust pipe and oxygen sensors from the exhaust manifold.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order while noting the following:

Replace gaskets and self-locking nuts.
