Quick Release Coupling Seal Kit
• Replace the seals using the seal kit if there are leaks at the quick release coupling and the clip is overstretched.
• The clamp - item 7 - and the seals - items 5 and 6 - (in the => [ Transmission Fluid Cooler Overview ] Description and Operation) for sealing the quick release couplings are included in the seal kit. Refer to the Parts Catalog.
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Trim Removal Wedge (3409)
• Drip Tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208)
• Circlip pliers
, Removing
• The supply and return lines are removed from the connection on the transmission fluid cooler. Refer to => [ Transmission Fluid Cooler Overview ] Description and Operation
- Open the clip - A - and remove it from the coupling.
- Pry the seals - 1 and 2 - out of the groove.
Only pry the seals out of the fitting with plastic tools, for example the trim removal wedge (3409). Do not use a screwdriver. It could cause leaks.
Installing
- Coat the seal - 1 - with transmission fluid and insert it in the groove by hand.
- Coat the seal - 2 - with transmission fluid and carefully slide it on as far as the stop. Make sure the seal does not turn inside out.
• The clip is installed next. Follow the description exactly to avoid overstretching the clip.
- Spread the clip a maximum - a - of 16 mm and place it on the coupling.

- Connect the supply and return lines to the connections on the transmission fluid cooler
When connecting, the clip engages audibly with a "click" in the groove on the connection - 1 -.
- Make sure the clip is seated correctly.
The clip must be seated completely in the groove on the coupling - 2 - and the connection - 1 -. Dimension - a - should be a maximum of 5 mm.
If the dimension is greater than 5 mm, the clip was overstretched and it must be replaced.
Do not bend the clip together. Otherwise the coupling could loosen later and transmission fluid could leak out.
