Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench 5 to 50 Nm (V.A.G 1331)

Removing






- Remove the spray nozzles - 2 -.

- Unclip the wire - 5 - from the hinge- 4 - and from the hood - 1 -.

- Remove the washer fluid line - 5 - from the hood - 1 -.

- Loosen the left and right bolts - 6 -, do not remove them.

A second mechanic is required for the rest of the removal procedure.

- Remove the gas-filled strut - 3 -.

- Remove the bolts - 6 - first and then the hood - 1 - from the hinges - 4 -.

Installation






Install the hood - 1 - in reverse order of removal.

• Route the wire - 5 - in a curve as shown in the illustration. The line will kink if it is installed twisted.

- Screw - 6 - tightening specification: 21 Nm.
