Radiator Cooling Fan: Service and Repair

Fan Shroud and Fans

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)

Removing

- Remove the cover and intake air duct - 1 and 2 - from the air filter housing. Refer to => [ Air Filter Housing Overview ] Service and Repair.






- Remove the upper fan shroud bolts - upper arrows -.






- Remove the noise insulation.

- Unclip the coolant hose from the fan shroud.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 - and remove the lower fan shroud bolts - lower arrows -.






- Remove the fan shroud with the fans downward.

- Disconnect the harness connector - 1 - and lay the wires free.






- Loosen the nuts - arrows - and remove the fans.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order while noting the following:
