EVAP Canister

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A)

Removing

- Remove the center and rear mufflers.

- Remove the heat shield retainers - arrows - and shield.






- For supporting purposes, place the engine/transmission jack (V.A.G 1383 A) under the rear subframe.

- Loosen the bolts for the rear subframe - arrows - and unscrew them approximately 20 mm.






- Slowly lower the rear subframe using the engine/transmission jack (V.A.G 1383 A).

- Disconnect the vent lines - A - by pressing the release button.






- Remove the bolts - B -.

A reinforcement plate is installed on the Eos. Use the T bar and socket 10 mm (3185) to loosen and tighten the bolts - B -.

- Release retaining straps - A - using a screwdriver. Rotate the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister approximately 90° clockwise - B - and remove the canister.






Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Connect the ventilation lines until they engage audibly.

- Install the rear subframe. .
