Fuel Level Sensor 2

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Wrench T10202
- Torque wrench V.A.G 1332

Removing
- Fuel tank may be a maximum of 3/4 full.

NOTE:
- Empty the fuel tank if necessary using the fuel extracting device VAS 5190.
- Read safety precautions before beginning work.
- Observe the rules for cleanliness.

- Remove seat bench.
- Remove left cover (when viewed from direction of travel) from fuel level sensor 2 G169
- Disconnect electrical harness connectors.







- Open locking ring using wrench T10202.







- Pull fuel level sensor 2 G169 up slightly and unclip suction jet pump.

CAUTION: Do not bend the fuel level sensor 2 G169 floater arm when removing.

Installing

CAUTION: Do not bend the fuel level sensor 2 G169 floater arm when installing.

- Insert fuel level sensor 2 G169 in fuel tank.







- Connect suction jet pump to sensor at inside of fuel tank. The catches must engage.
- Insert the new, dry flange seal into the fuel tank opening and only coat the inner side with fuel.
- Note the fuel level sensor 2 G169 installation location.
- Check sealing ring for correct positioning.







- Tighten locking ring with wrench T10202. Tightening specification: 110 Nm.
- Connect connector.
- Install cover.
- Install seat bench.
