Trim Removal Wedge (3409)

The part number for the radio is on a label on the radio housing.

Deactivate the anti-theft protection when replacing the radio. Refer to => [ Electronic Anti-Theft
System, Deactivating ] Through 2009. Give the customer the new radio code.

If the radio code is not known, you can retrieve it via the known systems. The radio serial number will is needed. It is on a label attached to the side of the radio. The serial number is also stamped in the side of the radio.

Removing

- If there is a CD still in the radio, remove it. Refer to the Operating Instructions.

- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.

- Remove the upper cover and vents from the center of the instrument panel. The screws under the center console should now be accessible.

- Remove screws - arrows - (1.5 Nm).






- Pry off the cover in the center console using a (3409) - arrows -.






- Remove the screws - arrows - (1.5 Nm) from the radio.






- Pull the radio out just far enough until the connectors on the back are accessible.

- Press together the connector lock in direction of - arrows -.






- Then swing mounting bracket up in direction of - arrow - and disconnect harness connector.






- Disengage harness connectors - arrows - from antenna connections and disconnect them.






Installing

- Connect the connectors on the radio making sure they engage.

- Push the radio straight into the instrument panel.

Never push directly on the display or the buttons when inserting the radio.

- Install the 4 screws - arrows - (1.5 Nm) in the radio.






- Install the cover in the center console.

- Deactivate the anti-theft coding. Refer to => [ Electronic Anti-Theft
System, Deactivating ] Through 2009.

- Check the coding for the radio. Code it again if necessary. Refer to => [ Premium 7 Components, Adapting ] Premium 7 Components, Adapting.
