Front Seat Pan Covers and Upholstery

• Removal and installation of the components is described for the left-hand seat. The same instructions apply for removal and installation of components for right seat.


If the upholstery, front seat cushion on front passenger side is replaced, Front Passenger's Seat Occupied Sensor (G128) also must always be replaced. Refer to => [ Front Passenger Seat Occupant Sensor ] Front Passenger Seat Occupant Sensor

Removal

- Mount the (VAS 6136) on the (VAS 6095).

- Remove front seat. Refer to => [ Front Seat ] Front Seat.

- Attach the seat to the (VAS 6136).

- Remove right trim on seat:

• Seat without folding backrest, refer to => [ Right Seat Trim ] Right Seat Trim.

• Seat with folding backrest, refer to => [ Left Folding Passenger Seat Trim ] Left Folding Passenger Seat Trim.

Vehicles with Manual Seat Adjustment

- Remove left trim on seat:

• Seat without folding backrest, refer to => [ Left Seat Trim ] Left Seat Trim.

• Seat with folding backrest, refer to => [ Right Folding Passenger Seat Trim ] Right Folding Passenger Seat Trim.

- Remove bracket and front seat operating lever. Refer to => [ Front Seat Support and Operating Lever ] Front Seat Support and Operating Lever.

Vehicles with Power Backrest Adjustment on the Front Passenger Seat (USA)

- Remove right trim on seat. Refer to => [ Right Seat Trim Panel with Power Lumbar Adjustment ] Right Seat Trim Panel with Power Lumbar Adjustment

- Remove the bracket and the lever on the power front seat backrest adjustment. Refer to => [ Power Backrest Adjustment Bracket and Lever ] Power Backrest Adjustment Bracket and Lever.

Vehicles with Power Seat Adjustment

- Remove left power seat trim. Refer to => [ Power Seat Trim, Left ] Power Seat Trim, Left.

- Remove retainer and power seat bracket. Refer to => [ Retainer and Power Seat Bracket ] Retainer and Power Seat Bracket.

All Vehicles

- If present, remove mount for seat drawer. Refer to => [ Seat Drawer Mount ] Seat Drawer Mount.

- Remove front seat backrest. Refer to => [ Left Front Seat Backrest ] Left Front Seat Backrest.

- Remove profile - 1 - from receptacle.

- Disengage retaining straps - 2 - from seat on both sides.

- Disengage profiles - 3 - from mounts on both sides of seat.

- Disengage profile - 4 - from mount on front side of seat.

- Roll cover upward on outer sides around circumference.





- Using a small screwdriver, unclip profiles - 1 - for cover out of mounts - 2 - in upholstery.

- In vehicles with seat heater, disconnect wiring harness - 3 - from seat frame.

Vehicles with Seat Occupied Recognition

- Remove cover - 4 - from upholstery - 5 - and from seat frame - 6 -.

- Remove front seat cushion upholstery - 5 - with components for seat occupied recognition => [ Seat Occupied Recognition System Repair Set with Manual Seat Adjustment ] Seat Occupied Recognition System Repair Set with Manual Seat Adjustment.


Upholstery of front seat cushion, mat for seat occupied recognition, pressure hose, Seat Occupied Recognition Pressure Sensor (G452) and Seat Occupied Recognition Control Module (J706) must not be separated.

Vehicles without Seat Occupied Recognition

- Remove the cover - 4 - and upholstery - 5 - from the seat frame - 6 -.





Installation

- To install, perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.
