Windshield Wiper System

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

• Pry Lever (80-200)


When disconnecting and connecting the Battery, the procedure must be followed as described in the repair information. Refer to=> [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

Removal

- Deactivate the APP function. Refer to => [ Wiper Motor Control Module, Deactivating APP Function ] Testing and Inspection.

- Let the wiper return to its park position and then turn off the ignition.

- Disconnect the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Remove the wiper arms. Refer to => [ Windshield Wiper Arms ] Windshield Wiper Arms.

- Remove the Plenum Chamber Cover.

- Remove the bolt - 1 - and the nut - 2 - from the air duct trim - 3 -.






- Remove the air duct trim - 3 - from the vehicle.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 -.






- Remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the wiper frame - 2 - from the vehicle.

Installation

- Install the wiper frame in reverse order.

- While installing, securing pin - 2 - of wiper frame must be inserted into grommet - 1 - on bulkhead.






- Tighten the threaded connections to the tightening specification. Refer to => [ Windshield Wiper System Overview ] Windshield Wiper System Overview.

- Connect the connector to the windshield wiper motor (V).

- Install the air duct trim and the plenum chamber cover in reverse order of removal.

- Install the plenum chamber cover.

- Connect the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Installation wiper arms. Refer to=> [ Windshield Wiper Arms ] Windshield Wiper Arms.
