Instrument Panel Decorative Trim

Removal

Driver Side

- Pry trim panels - 1 - and - 2 -out of instrument panel on driver side using (3409).

Passenger Side

- Turn off the ignition.

- Remove the side instrument panel cover on the front passenger side. Refer to => [ Instrument Panel Side Covers ] Instrument Panel Side Covers.

- Remove the A-pillar center trim on the passenger side. Refer to => [ Center A-pillar Trim ] Center A-pillar Trim.

- Disengage sill panel trim from body in lower A-pillar trim transition area. Refer to => [ Sill Panel Trim ] Sill Panel Trim.

- Remove the trim at the bottom of the A-pillar on the front passenger side. Refer to => [ Passenger Side Lower A-pillar Trim ] Passenger Side Lower A-pillar Trim

- Remove the trim in the center of the instrument panel (Jetta from MY 2010, Golf Wagon from MY 2010). Refer to => [ Instrument Panel Center Trim ] Instrument Panel Center Trim.

- Remove the trim around the heating and A/C controls (Jetta from MY 2010, Golf Wagon from MY 2010). Refer to => [ Heating and A/C Control Trim ] Heating and A/C Control Trim.

With Automatic Transmission

- Loosen boot from cover.

With Manual Transmission and Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG)

- Loosen boot from cover.

- Remove the storage compartment or ashtray (Jetta from MY 2010 and Golf Wagon from MY 2010). Refer to => [ Storage Compartment and Ashtray ] Storage Compartment and Ashtray

- Remove the cover in the center console. It is not necessary to remove the entire center console.

Basic. Refer to => [ Center Console, Basis ]

Highline. Refer to => [ Center Console, Highline ]

- Remove the glove compartment. Refer to => [ Glove Compartment ] Glove Compartment

- Pry the passenger trim - 4 - out of mounts using (3409) - arrow A -.

- Remove the tension strap clips - 3 - and - 5 - from the glove compartment - arrow B -.





Installation

- To install, perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.
