Tightening Torque & Sequences
CYLINDER HEADTighten cylinder head in sequence indicated, in four stages as follows:
1 - Tighten using torque wrench:
Step I = 35 Nm
Step II = 60 Nm
2 - Tighten further using a solid wrench:
III = 1/4 additional turn (90°)
IV = 1/4 turn (90°)
HEAD BOLT REUSE/REPLACE
Always replace cylinder head bolts.
Replace gaskets, seals, self-locking nuts and clamps.
Carefully remove residual sealant from cylinder head and cylinder block. Make sure that no long scrapes or scratches result. When using sand paper, grit must not be below 100.
Thoroughly remove all sanding and grinding residue.
Only unpack new cylinder head gasket immediately prior to installation
CAMSHAFT BEARING CAP
Tighten bearing frame bolts or nuts in sequence - 1 to 24 -.
Tightening specifications 2 10 Nm and 3 10 Nm
ROD BEARING CAP
Connecting Rod Bolt, 30 Nm plus an additional 1/ 4 turn (90°)
WATER PUMP
Insert coolant pump - 2 - in cylinder block and tighten bolts - 1 -.
Tightening specification 15 Nm.
