Fluid - M/T: Service and Repair

Transmission Oil, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)

• Triple square socket driver (3357)

- Remove sound insulation

- Remove fill plug for checking transmission oil - arrow -.





Oil level is correct when transmission is filled up to lower edge of oil fill hole.

- Screw in plug - arrow - with new sealing ring.

- Tighten plug - arrow - to tightening specification --> [ 5 Oil filler plug ] Transmission Housing, Servicing.

When Filling with New Oil, Note the Following

- Remove plug - arrow -.

- Top off transmission fluid to lower edge of oil fill hole.

- Install plug- arrow -.

- Start engine, select gear and let transmission turn approximately 2 minutes.

- Shut off engine and remove plug - arrow -.

- Top off transmission oil again to lower edge of oil fill hole.

- Install plug - arrow - with new sealing ring.

- Tighten plug - arrow - to tightening specification --> [ 5 Oil filler plug ] Transmission Housing, Servicing.

- Install sound insulation
