Exhaust Gas Recirculation System Components Assembly Overview

• Always replace self-locking nuts, seals, gaskets and clamps.

• Hoses are secured with spring-type clips.

• Pliers for spring clamps (VAS 6362) or hose clamp pliers (VAS 6340) are recommended for installing spring clamps.









1 Gasket

• Replace

• Note installation position

2 Connecting Pipe

• To remove and installing, also loosen the connections --> [ 33 Connecting Piece ] Turbocharger with Exhaust Manifold and Attachments Assembly Overview on the turbocharger

3 To Connection on Turbocharger

• --> [ 33 Connecting Piece ] Turbocharger with Exhaust Manifold and Attachments Assembly Overview

4 Seal

• Replace if damaged

5 8 Nm

6 Radiator

• For exhaust gas recirculation system

7 23 Nm

• Installed on stud bolt --> [ (item 17) Stud Bolt ] Turbocharger with Exhaust Manifold and Attachments Assembly Overview on turbocharger.

8 Control Wire, 23 Nm

• Do not change angles of the control line.

• To exhaust pressure sensor 2 (G451) --> [ 5 Control Wire ] Particulate Filter with NOx Absorption Catalytic Converter Assembly Overview

• To loosen at housing --> [ 16 Housing ] remove exhaust gas recirculation filter --> [ 9 Filter ]

• Install without tension.

9 Filter

• For exhaust gas recirculation system

10 23 Nm

• Secure on exhaust manifold with heat shield --> [ 16 Heat Shield ] Turbocharger with Exhaust Manifold and Attachments Assembly Overview

11 To Particulate Filter

• --> [ 27 Particle Filter ] Particulate Filter with NOx Absorption Catalytic Converter Assembly Overview

12 Securing Clamp, 3.5 Nm

• Replace

• Note installation position --> [ Clamp Installation Position Between the Particulate
Filter and Exhaust Gas Recirculation Filter ] Particulate Filter with NOx Absorption Catalytic Converter Assembly Overview

13 23 Nm

14 Valve 2 for EGR (N213)

• Mark installation position before removing

• Always clean fitting area on the valve and housing and lubricate lightly if necessary.

15 Coolant Hose

• Check for secure seat

• Coolant hose connection diagram, refer to --> [ Coolant Hose Connection Diagram ] [1][2]Cooling System.

16 Housing

• For exhaust gas recirculation system

17 EGR Temperature Sensor (G98), 20 Nm

• Cut out gasket and replace if it is damaged or leaks

• Follow tightening specification

• Removing and Installing, refer to --> [ EGR Temperature Sensor ] Service and Repair.
