Headlamp Control Module: Service and Repair

HID Headlamp Control Modules

• The Left High-intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module (J343)/Right High-intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module (J344) is not equipped with OBD.

Removing

- Remove headlamp. Refer to --> [ Headlamps ] Headlamps.

- Remove the mounting bolts - arrows - for the Left High-intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module (J343) - 1 -.





• Do not disconnect any connectors when removing the Left High-intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module (J343). The connector is installed permanently on the headlamp and is automatically disconnected when removing the Left High-intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module (J343).

- Remove the Left High-intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module (J343) - 1 - from the headlamp.

Installing

CAUTION!
Make sure the seal is seated properly when installing the Left High-intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module (J343). It is destroyed by ingress of water into headlamp.

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Check headlamp for function.

- Perform headlamp basic setting.
