Cylinder Head Assembly: Specifications






Fastener Tightening Specifications





1 Always replace

2 Left hand threads

Crankcase Ventilation Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





Tighten the crankcase ventilation bolts in the sequence - 1 through 10 - shown to 11 Nm.

Cylinder Head Cover Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





Tighten the new cylinder head cover bolts in 3 passes in sequence - 1 through 6 - as follows:

- 1. Tighten the bolts by hand.

- 2. Tighten the bolts to 8 Nm.

- 3. Tighten the bolts an additional 90° (1/ 4 turn).

Cylinder Head, Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





Tighten the new cylinder head bolts in 3 passes in sequence - 1 through 5 - as follows:

- 1. Tighten the bolts to 40 Nm.

- 2. Using a TORX(R) bit, tighten an additional 90° (1/4 turn).

- 3. Using a TORX(R) bit, tighten and additional 90° (1/4 turn).

- 4. Tighten the new bolts - arrows - to 8 Nm.

- 5. Tighten the bolts - arrows - using a TORX(R) bit an additional 90° (1/4).

Upper Timing Chain Cover Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





Tighten bolts in 2 passes in sequence - 1 through 5 - as follows:

- 1. Tighten the bolts by hand.

- 2. Tighten the bolts to 9 Nm.

Lower Timing Chain Cover Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





Tighten the bolts in 3 passes in sequence - 1 through 15 - as follows:

- 1. Tighten the bolts by hand.

- 2. Tighten the bolts to 8 Nm.

- 3. Tighten the bolts an additional 90° (1/ 4 turn).

Intermediate Shaft Sprocket Bolt Tightening Specification





Tighten the bolt in 4 passes as follows:

- 1. Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm.

- 2. Turn the sprocket.

The sprocket must not have any play; if so, loosen and tighten again.

- 3. Tighten the bolt to 30 Nm.

- 4. Tighten the bolt an additional 90° (1/ 4 turn).
