Windshield Wiper Blades, Adjusting Park Position

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331) (or corresponding 5 - 50 Nm)

• Wiper blades are arranged symmetrically on RHD vehicles.

Procedure

- Deactivate APP function. Refer to --> [ Wiper Motor Control Module, Deactivating APP Function ] Testing and Inspection if not already done by this time.

- Let wiper run into rest position and then switch off ignition.

- Now set the park positions of the windshield wiper blades.

Driver's side





Distance - A - between tips of wiper lips and upper edge of plenum chamber cover must be 10 mm.

- If necessary, set park position of windshield wiper blades by offsetting wiper arms.

Wiper arms, removing, refer to --> [ Windshield Wiper Arms ] Removal and Replacement.

- Tighten the threaded connection using the specified torque. Refer to --> [ Windshield Washer System Tightening Specifications ] [1][2]Specifications.

Passenger's side





Distance - B - between tips of wiper lips and upper edge of plenum chamber cover must be 10 mm.

- If necessary, set park position of windshield wiper blades by offsetting wiper arms.

Wiper arms, removing, refer to --> [ Windshield Wiper Arms ] Removal and Replacement.

- Tighten the threaded connection using the specified torque. Refer to --> [ Windshield Washer System Tightening Specifications ] [1][2]Specifications.
