Alarm Module: Service and Repair

Towing Recognition Control Module

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

CAUTION!
• Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

• Remove ignition key.

Removing

- Remove luggage compartment left side trim.

- Disconnect the connectors - 2 - from the towing recognition control module (J345).





• The number of towing recognition control module harness connectors can deviate from the illustration depending on vehicle equipment.

- Remove mounting bolts - 1 - and remove towing recognition control module with bracket out of vehicle.

- Remove mounting bolts - arrows - and remove towing recognition control module from bracket.





Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Tighten all threaded connections using the specified torques. Refer to => [ Towing Recognition Control Module Tightening Specifications ] [1][2]Specifications.

After installing a new towing recognition control module, it must be coded. Refer to => [ Towing Recognition Control Module, Coding ] Programming and Relearning.
