Double Check Valve, Checking
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Hand vacuum pump (VAS 6213)
• Connector test kit (VAG 1594C)
Test Conditions
• The Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge regulator valve was tested by the (VAS 5051B) and is OK.
Test Sequence
• Intake manifold assembly overview. Refer to --> [ Intake Manifold Assembly Overview ] .
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to --> [ Engine Cover ] .
- Remove the connector - 1 - and the ventilation hose - 3 - from the EVAP canister purge regulator valve - 2 -.
- Set the slide ring - 1 - on the (VAS 6213) to the -A- position for "vacuum".
- Connect the (VAS 6213) to the EVAP canister purge regulator valve.
- Connect the EVAP canister purge regulator valve - 1 - contacts to the battery using the adapter cables from the (VAG 1594C). This opens the EVAP canister purge regulator valve.
- Then activate the (VAS 6213) several times.
• Vacuum must build up.
- Disconnect the battery again (interrupt the power supply).
No vacuum
- Replace the double check valve - 2 - and the EVAP canister purge regulator valve - 1 -.
• The double check valve, the EVAP canister purge regulator valve and the connecting hoses are a single unit and can only be replaced together.
