Clutch System Bleeding

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Brake filler/bleeder unit (VAS 5234) or

• Pre-filling the system is not necessary!

- Connect brake filler bleeder unit (VAS 5234).

If necessary, use bleeder hose (670 mm long) (V.A.G 1238/B3) for bleeding.

- Connect bleeder hose with collector bottle of brake bleeder unit.

- Connect bleeder hose - A - to bleeder - arrow -.





- Charge system to a pressure of 2 bar.

- Open bleeder valve approximately 1/4 turn.

- Pump clutch pedal very quickly 15 to 20 times by hand from stop to stop.

- Close bleeder valve.

- After completing bleeding procedure, and pressure has dropped from 2 bar, operate clutch pedal an additional 10 times by foot.
