Rear Door, Wagon

The rear doors on the Wagon are different in concept from the rear doors on the Sedan. The outer door panel is not longer removable. The window regulator and the door lock are accessible when the subframe is removed.

Removing

- Pry out cover cap in front of bolt - 1 -.





- Pull door handle - 2 - in - direction of arrow - and unscrew bolt - 1 - until it stops using socket wrench (T10072).

- Remove housing - 3 - at right angle to door from door handle bearing bracket.

Installing

- Insert the housing - 2 - at the right angle into the bearing bracket - arrow - on the door handle - 1 -.





Door handle - 1 - must make contact only lightly at door panel.

- Now install screw - 3 - into bearing bracket using socket wrench (T10072).

Door handle engages again into housing with an audible click.

During installation, housing must be pressed onto door panel. The door handle rests only lightly against the door panel.

Further installation is in reverse order of removal.

Then a function test must be performed with door open, since the door cannot be opened if release is not correctly adjustment or clipped in.
