Engine, Securing to Assembly Stand

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Lifting tackle (3033)

Shop crane (VAS 6100)

Engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095)

Engine lateral bracket (T03001)

Transport arm (T03002)

For performing work, secure the engine using the (T03001) to the (VAS 6095).

- Remove the transmission from the engine.

- Remove the clamp - 1 - for the wiring harness, remove bolts - 3 - and remove the heat shield - 2 -.





- Disconnect the electrical connectors - 1 - and - 2 - and remove the bracket - 3 - bolts - arrow -.





- Install the (T03002) as shown.





The pin - 1 - engages in the cylinder block. Tighten the knurled bolt - 2 - hand tight.

- Install the (T03001).





Tighten the bolts - 1 - and - 3 - to 40 Nm and bolt - 2 - to 25 Nm.

The bolts are designed so that they cannot be lost.

When removing, (T03001) must be held at tension in direction of withdrawal, otherwise the bolt - 1 - cannot be removed.

- Install the (3033) as shown and lift off using the (VAS 6100) from the (VAG 1383A).





- Secure the engine on the (VAS 6095).
