Subframe

Rear Door, Wagon

• The rear doors on the Wagon are different in concept from the rear doors on the Sedan. The outer door panel is not longer removable. The window regulator and the door lock are accessible when the subframe is removed.

Subframe

• Window regulator, door lock and loudspeaker are secured to subframe.

• Door lock can only be removed in conjunction with subframe.

• If it is not possible to drive down the door window by the electrical window regulator, first the exact cause of malfunction must be determined.

• For this purpose, use diagnostic operation system (VAS 5051 A) or (VAS 5052) to check DTC memory of Comfort system.

• If electrical malfunction is present, repair this malfunction first.

• If there is an electrical malfunction due to window regulator motor, it can be unscrewed from subframe and door window can be slid by hand into the necessary work position.

Removing

Remove door handle. Refer to --> [ Door Handle ]. Door Handle

- Remove the door trim..

- Pry out cover caps - 5 -.





- Lower the door window - 1 - until the spreader pin - 3 - and spreader plug - 4 - are accessible in the window regulator opening.

• If the step is not possible due to a malfunction through the electrical window regulator, the window regulator motor can be removed to slide the window.

- Install a 5 mm bolt (approx. 70 mm long) in the spreader pin - 3 -.

- Remove the spreader pin from the spreader plug - 4 - with the bolt.

- Screw a 8 mm bolt (approx. 80 mm long) into spreader plug - 4 -.

• When screwing the bolt into spreader plug, do not use excessive force on the plug otherwise it may fall inside into the door.

- Pull spreader plug - 4 - our of clamping bracket - 2 - and thereby out of door window.

- Slide the door window - 1 - upward and secure it (e.g. with adhesive tape).

- Release boots - 4 - by pressing on locking mechanism - arrow a - and remove boots from B-pillar.

- Swivel locking lever - 5 - downward - arrow b - and disconnect electrical harness connector - 6 - from connector station.

- Remove the bolts - 2 - from the door lock - 3 -.

- Remove the bolts - arrow - from the subframe - 1 -.





- Guide wire - 3 - into door.

- Remove the subframe - 1 - with the door lock - 2 - from the door in the direction of - arrow -.





Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

- Secure the door window.

- Tightening specifications: Subframe bolt - arrow - 8 Nm

- Tightening specifications: Door lock bolt - 2 - 18 Nm
