Clutch Position Sensor
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Hose Clamps Up to 25 mm dia. (3094)
Removing
- First check whether a coded radio is installed. In this case, find out anti-theft coding.
- Disconnect battery Ground (GND) cable with ignition switched off.
- Remove entire air filter housing, if it is located in the vicinity of the battery.
- Remove battery and battery carrier
If a hose/line assembly - 1 - with a round component is installed directly below the master cylinder, hose/line assembly must be removed.
• While performing the following work, make sure that no brake fluid comes into contact with longitudinal member or with transmission. If this happens, these areas must be cleaned thoroughly.
- Use Hose Clamps Up to 25 mm dia. (3094) to clamp supply hose to master cylinder.
- Disengage securing clip - 2 - using a screwdriver and pull out of master cylinder until it stops.
- Disconnect hose/line assembly - 1 - from master cylinder and plug it.
All vehicles
- Disconnect electrical connector - 4 -.
- Unclip Clutch Position Sensor (G476) on master cylinder - arrow - and remove.
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:
• Replace hose clamps.
If the hose/line assembly was removed:
- Press hose/line assembly - 1 - with O-ring - 2 - into master cylinder connection - 4 - until securing clip - 3 - engages audibly.
- Verify by pulling on hose/line assembly.
- Bleed clutch system --> [ Clutch System, Bleeding ] Clutch System, Bleeding.
All vehicles
- Install battery carrier and battery.
- If removed, install entire air filter housing
- Connect battery and follow work steps after connecting battery.
