Door Windows
Front Door Window Adjusting, Convertible
CAUTION!
Pinch protection is activated when X-axis adjustment is not correct.
CAUTION!
an incorrect window adjustment may cause damages in convertible top.
Requirement:
• Door adjustment to chassis and convertible top adjustment to windshield frame OK.
• Distance - a - other than 65 mm.
Front and Rear Adjustment
- Remove front door trim.
- Drive door window far enough upward or downward until clamping brackets are accessible in installation openings - 1 -.
- Loosen clamps - 2 - and - 3 - and nut - 4 -.
- Press side window into front window guide - arrow -.
- Adjust distance - a - to 65 mm.
• Apply locking compound (only for not microencapsulated bolts) before tightening bolts - 2 - and - 3 -.
- Tighten clamp - 3 -, tightening specification: 8 Nm.
- Lower door window completely and raise door window to top position again until clamp - 2 - is accessible.
• It is of no use to lower the door window completely and raise it to top position again to gain parallelism between door window lifter guides.
- Tighten clamp - 2 -, tightening torque: 8 Nm.
- Tighten nut - 4 -, tightening torque: 8 Nm.
- Distance - a - 65 mm, adjust if necessary.
- Install front door trim.
Left and Right Adjustment
• Malfunction in Y-axis between door window and window recess sealing in convertible top (door closed and door window raised at top position).
- Loosen nuts and slide bolts/nuts simultaneously outward - arrow - (outward door window displacement) to adjust +Y-axis.
- Loosen nuts and slide bolts/nuts simultaneously inward - arrow - (inner door window displacement) to adjust -Y-axis.
- Tighten nuts.
CAUTION!
Pinch protection is activated when Y-axis adjustment is not correct.
Up and Down Adjustment
• Door window guide in window recess sealing in convertible top different from 8 ± 1mm (door closed and door window raised to top position).
- Mark three reference points on door window - arrows - indicating 8 mm reference on adhesive tape.
- Check deviations for each reference point.
- Lower window completely.
- Turn adjustment screws clockwise to adjust +Z-axis (adjustment - up).
- Turn adjustment screws counter clockwise to adjust -Z-axis (adjustment - down).
• A 360° turn equals a displacement of 1 mm.
Function Test
• Convertible top completely open.
- Raise front door window and rear window to top position.
- Height of both windows must be aligned - a -.
- Distance - b - must be 9.5 ± 0.5 mm.
