Backrest Heating Element

Removal

CAUTION!
Do not install normal seat heater elements (for fabric seat covers) in vehicles with leather seat covers.

There is a danger the seat heater may overheat.





- Remove seat.

- Remove backrest. Refer to => [ Front Backrest Assembly Overview ] Front Seats Overview.

- Remove the backrest cover through 04.2003 and convertible. Refer to => [ Front Backrest Cover and Upholstery ]. Front Backrest Cover and Upholstery

- Remove the backrest cover from 05.2003. Refer to => [ Front Backrest Cover and Cushion from 05.2003 ]. Front Backrest Cover and Cushion From 05.2003

- Disconnect the connector - 5 -.

- Guide cable - 1 - through opening - 2 - in center part of cushion - 3 - and remove heating element - 4 -.

• In the leather version from 05.2003, the heating element is integrated in the backrest cover and can only be replaced together with the backrest cover.
