Ignition, Assembly Overview





1 Knock Sensor (KS) 1 (G61)

• on the front cylinder head under the intake manifold

• to remove, the coolant pump must be removed => [ Coolant Pump, Removing and Installing ] Coolant Pump, Removing and Installing

• Contacts gold plated

2 20 Nm

• Tightening specifications affects function of Knock Sensor (KS).

3 Ignition coil with power output stage ((N70, N127, N291, N292))

• Removing and installing => [ Ignition Coils with Power Output Stages, Removing and Installing ] Service and Repair

4 Spark plug,. 25 Nm

• Type and electrode gap => [ Test Data and Spark Plugs ] Specifications

• Removing and installing with spark plug removal tool (3122 B)

5 O-ring

• Replace

6 Engine speed (RPM) sensor (G28)

• in the front, lower, left in the cylinder block, next to the oil separator => [ ] Component Locations Overview

7 10 Nm

8 Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor (G40)

• in the front cylinder head cover

• Contacts gold plated
