Clutch Pedal and Hydraulics

Clutch Pedal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Pliers (T10005)

Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)

Assembly Tool (T10178)

Removing

- Remove the mounting bracket. Refer to one of the following:

Eos, refer to => [ Mounting Bracket ]. Mounting Bracket

Passat, Passat CC and CC, refer to => [ Mounting Bracket ]. Mounting Bracket

- Carefully mount the mounting bracket in a vise with protective jaws.

- Remove the clutch pedal - 1 - from the mounting bracket - 3 -, to do so, remove the nut - 2 - and pull out the bolt - 5 -.





- Swivel the clutch pedal slightly toward the front and remove the over center spring - 4 - from the mounting bracket.

- Release the clutch pedal from the master cylinder using the (T10005).





- Remove the clutch pedal.

Installing

Install in reverse sequence; note the following points:

Replace the self locking nut.

- Install the mount - 2 - onto the master cylinder operating rod - 1 -.





- Press the mount into the notch on the clutch pedal - 3 - until it engages audibly.

- Install the over center spring - 2 - from above into the mounting bracket and hold the spring end in the installed position using the (T10178) while doing so.





- Insert the clutch pedal pivot - 1 - into the over center spring - 2 -.

- Press on clutch pedal slightly, push the bolt through and tighten the self locking nut.

- Install the mounting bracket. Refer to one of the following:

Eos, refer to => [ Mounting Bracket ]. Mounting Bracket

Passat, Passat CC and CC, refer to => [ Mounting Bracket ]. Mounting Bracket
