Technical Background
The symbol for the external rear view mirror heater is no longer located at the top position of the switch housing.

Heated mirror symbol - previous location

Prior to 2009 the heated mirror switch symbol was located at the 12 O' clock position on the mirror switch housing. The control knob in the 12 O' clock position is the ON position for the heated mirrors.

NOTE:
- If the heated mirror symbol is at the 2 O' clock as shown in Figure 2, DO NOT replace the mirror switch. No further action is necessary.
- Figures 1 and 2 are for heated mirror symbol location representation only. DO NOT replace the switch for Knob style variations.





Heated mirror symbol - new location
MY 2009 has changed the location of the heated mirror switch symbol.

The switch operates the same as previous years with the switch "ON" position at 12 O' clock.

Tip: The customer may perceive that they have to turn the mirror switch knob towards the heated mirror symbol. This does nothing as the normal ON position is at 12 O' clock as shown to the left.
