Heated Seat Switch, Manual Temperature Control

Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect the negative battery cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

Removing

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Be sure to note the color and location of each connector at the back of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning control prior to disconnecting them. Reconnecting a connector to the wrong receptacle can damage the HVAC control system.

- Remove the center bezel from the instrument panel and place it on a workbench. Refer to => [ Instrument Panel Center Bezel ] Instrument Panel Center Bezel.

- Remove the screws securing the HVAC control to the instrument panel center bezel and remove the control.

Installing

- Position the HVAC control into the instrument panel center bezel.

Failure to follow this caution can damage the HVAC control system.
