Exhaust Crossover Pipe

Removing






- Disconnect the negative battery cable.

- Remove the crossover pipe to left exhaust manifold bolts (2) and nuts (4).

- Remove the crossover pipe to right exhaust manifold upper bolt and nut.

- Raise and suitably support the vehicle.

- Remove the left front wheel and tire.

- Access the crossover pipe to right exhaust manifold lower bolt and nut through the left front wheel opening using a long extension. Remove the lower bolt and nut.

- Lower the vehicle.

- Remove the exhaust crossover pipe.

- Remove and discard the crossover pipe to exhaust manifold seal (3) and gasket.

Installing






- Install the crossover pipe (1) to the vehicle.

- Install a new seal (3) between the crossover pipe and left exhaust manifold. Loosely install the bolts (2) and nuts (4).

- Position a new gasket between the crossover pipe and the right exhaust manifold. Loosely install the upper bolt and nut.

- Raise the vehicle.

- Install the crossover pipe to right exhaust manifold lower bolt and nut. Tighten the bolt to 41 Nm (30 ft lbs).

- Install the left front wheel and tire.

- Lower the vehicle.

- Tighten the right crossover pipe to exhaust manifold upper bolt using a long extension accessing through the left wheel opening. Tighten the bolt to 41 Nm (30 ft lbs).

- Tighten the crossover pipe to left exhaust manifold bolts. Tighten the bolts to 41 Nm (30 ft lbs).

- Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair the exhaust leaks as necessary.

- Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. Make the necessary adjustments, as needed.
