Sliding Door Lower Hinge Grinding

Technical Background

Customers may experience a grinding sound when opening and closing the sliding door.

Production Solution

Final production countermeasure pending.

Service

- Open and close the sliding door multiple times.

- Ensure there are no obstructions or debris in the track and listen for a grinding sound originating from the lower track of the door.

- If the above symptom/condition is experienced or can be verified, perform the Repair Procedure below.

Procedure

- Remove interior sliding door handle.

TIP:
Partially remove the door panel enough to gain access to all the lower hinge assembly bolts. DO NOT remove the panel completely.





- Install lower hinge assembly Part No. 7B0 843 397A (Left) or 7B0 843 398A (Right). See Lower Hinge, in ElsaWeb.

- Install interior trim panel by pressing it back into place.

- Install interior sliding door handle. See Rear Door, Inside Door Handle, Installation in ElsaWeb.
