B1402 - Left Front Audio Speaker Output Circuit High

Test Step 1 - Check for an Intermittent Condition

Turn the ignition ON, then OFF, and then ON again.

With the scan tool, check for radio DTCs.

Does the scan tool display B1402 - Left Front Audio Speaker Output Circuit High?

Yes

Go to Test Step 2.

No

The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.

Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior

Test Step 2 - Check for Voltage on the Speaker (+) Circuit







Turn the ignition OFF.

Disconnect the radio C1 harness connector.

Disconnect the speaker harness connector.

Measure for voltage on the speaker (+) circuit.

Is the voltage more than 10.0 volts?

Yes

Repair the speaker (+) circuit for a short to voltage.

Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior

No

Go to Test Step 3.

Test Step 3 - Check for Voltage on the Speaker (-) Circuit







Measure for voltage on the speaker (-) circuit.

Is the voltage more than 10.0 volts?

Yes

Repair the speaker (-) circuit for a short to voltage.

Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior

No

Replace the radio.

Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
