B1480 - Channel 7 Audio Speaker Output Circuit High






For a complete wiring diagram, refer to.

When Monitored: With the ignition on.

Set Condition: The amplifier detects a short to battery condition on the output circuit.






Test Step 1 - Check for an Intermittent Condition

Turn the ignition ON, then OFF, and then ON again.

With the scan tool, check for amplifier DTCs.

Does the scan tool display B1480 - Channel 7 Audio Speaker Output Circuit High?

Yes

Go to Test Step 2.

No

The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.

Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior

Test Step 2 - Check for Voltage on the Subwoofer 1 (+) Circuit

Turn the ignition OFF.

Disconnect the amplifier C1 harness connector.

Disconnect the subwoofer 1 harness connector.

Turn the ignition ON.

Measure for voltage on the subwoofer 1 (+) circuit.

Is the voltage more than 10.0 volts?

Yes

Repair the subwoofer 1 (+) circuit for a short to voltage.

Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior

No

Go to Test Step 3.

Test Step 3 - Check for Voltage on the Subwoofer 1 (-) Circuit

Check for voltage on the subwoofer 1 (+) circuit

Is the voltage more than 10.0 volts?

Yes

Repair the subwoofer 1 (-) circuit for a short to voltage.

Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior

No

Replace the amplifier.

Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
