B1BD1
B1BD1 - Roll Over Sensor Configuration Mismatch
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to.
Theory of Operation
When powered, the occupant restraint controller performs an internal self test. The repair of this fault condition does not involve any external circuitry and centers on verifying the integrity of the module's internal circuitry and software validity.
• When Monitored: The ORC checks the status and validity of the internal operating software at power up during the initialization process, and continuously through the ignition cycle.
• Set Condition: This DTC sets when the ORC detects that roll over is configured, but not present.
Always perform the Pre - Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding.
Test Step 1 - Check For Active DTC
• Ensure the battery is fully charged.
• Turn the ignition ON.
• Perform ORC module reset. Access the miscellaneous function menu from the ORC ECU overview screen on the scan tool to perform this operation.
• With the scan tool, read all active ORC DTCs.
Is the DTC active or stored?
ORC - active DTC
• Go to Test Step 2 => [ Test Step 2 - Check ORC Configuration ]
ORC - Stored DTC
• Perform the Restraints System Intermittent Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. ORC Restraints System Intermittent Test
Test Step 2 - Check ORC Configuration
• With the scan tool, check the ORC configuration.
• With the scan tool, change the ORC roll over configuration setting.
• With the scan tool, perform ORC reset.
• With the scan tool, read all active ORC DTCs.
Is DTC B1BD1 - Roll Over Sensor Configuration Mismatch active?
Yes
• Replace the ORC.
• Perform the Restraints System Intermittent Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. ORC Restraints System Intermittent Test
If the occupant restraint controller is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to take the proper precautions can result in accidental airbag deployment. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
Turn the ignition OFF, disconnect the 12 volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
