B1E3E - 3rd Row Seat Fold/Tailgate Switch Circuit High
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to.
• When Monitored: Continuously.
• Set Condition: When the power folding seat senses voltage over 4.9 volts on the fold/tailgate switch MUX circuit for longer than 300 milliseconds.
Test Step 1 - DTC Present
• With the scan tool, record and then erase DTCs.
• Turn the ignition OFF, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition ON.
• Operate the seat switch several times.
• With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 2 => [ Test
Step 2 - Check the folding seat select switch MUX circuit voltage ]
No
• Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
• Perform Power Folding Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test
Test Step 2 - Check the Fold/Tailgate Switch MUX Circuit Voltage
• Disconnect the power folding seat switch connector.
• Measure the voltage between the fold/tailgate switch MUX circuit and the folding seat switch return circuit at the power folding seat switch connector.
Choose result:
Over 5.0 volts
• Go to Test Step 3 => [ Test Step 3 - Check the Folding Seat Select Switch MUX Circuit for
a Short to Voltage ]
4.9 volts + or - 0.1 volt
• Replace the power folding seat switch.
• Perform Power Folding Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test
Test Step 3 - Check the Fold/Tailgate Switch MUX Circuit for a Short to Voltage
• Disconnect the C392 seat in - line 12 way harness connector.
• Measure the voltage between the fold/tailgate switch MUX circuit and ground.
Is any voltage present?
Yes
• Repair the fold/tailgate switch MUX circuit for a short to voltage.
• Perform Power Folding Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test
No
• Gain access to and check the fold/tailgate switch MUX wire in the seat harness for a short to another circuit. If OK, replace the power rear folding seat module.
• Perform Power Folding Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test
