B1E44 - 3rd Row Seat Left Backrest Position Sensor Circuit Low

• When Monitored: Whenever the seat motor is activated.
• Set Condition: If sensor voltage is below a specified range this DTC will set.
Test Step 1 - Test For Intermittent Condition
• Turn the ignition ON.
• With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
• Move the seat recliner switch in both positions three times.
• With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 2 => [ Test
Step 2 - Check the Left Seat Back Position Sensor Supply Circuit Voltage ]
No
• The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
• Perform Power Folding Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test
Test Step 2 - Check the Left Seat Back Position Sensor Supply Circuit Voltage
• Turn the ignition OFF.
• Disconnect the left power rear folding seat back motor harness connector.
• Move the seat recliner switch in both positions three times during the next step.
• Connect a voltmeter between the left seat back position sensor supply circuit and the left seat back position sensor return at the left power rear folding seat back motor harness connector.
• With the folding seat switch select the left seat.
• Depress the stow position switch.
Is the voltage 10.0 volts?
Yes
• Replace the left power rear folding seat back motor assembly.
• Perform Power Folding Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test
No
• Go to Test Step 3 => [ Test
Step 3 - Check the Left Seat Back Position Sensor Supply Circuit for
a Short to Ground ]
Test Step 3 - Check the Left Seat Back Position Sensor Supply Circuit for a Short to Ground
• Disconnect the folding seat module C4 harness connector.
• Measure the resistance of the left seat back position sensor supply circuit between ground and the other circuits of the left power rear folding seat back motor harness connector.
Is there any continuity present?
Yes
• Repair the left seat back position sensor supply circuit for a short to ground or to another circuit.
• Perform Power Folding Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test
No
• Replace the folding seat module.
• Perform Power Folding Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test
