B1E45 - 3rd Row Seat Left Backrest Position Sensor Circuit High

When Monitored: When the seat motor is activated.

Set Condition: If during motor operation the sensor voltage is not within a specified range this code will set.






Test Step 1 - Test For Intermittent Condition

Turn the ignition ON.

With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.

Operate the folding seat switch several times.

With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

Go to Test Step 2 => [ Test Step 2 - Left Power Rear Folding Seat Back Motor ]

No

The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.

Perform Power Folding Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test

Test Step 2 - Left Power Rear Folding Seat Back Motor

Turn the ignition OFF.

Disconnect the left power rear folding seat back motor harness connector.

Turn the ignition ON.

With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.

Operate the folding seat switch several times.

With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display this DTC?

Yes

Go to Test Step 3 => [ Test Step 3 - Check the Left Seat Back Position Sense Circuit for
a Short to Voltage ]

No

Replace the rear left power rear folding seat back motor assembly.

Perform Power Folding Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test

Test Step 3 - Check the Left Seat Back Position Sense Circuit for a Short to Voltage






Turn the ignition OFF.

Disconnect the folding seat module C4 harness connector.

Turn the ignition ON.

Measure the left seat back position sensor supply circuit for voltage at the folding seat module C4 harness connector.

Is there any voltage present?

Yes

Repair the left seat back position sensor supply for a short to voltage.

No

Go to Test Step 4 => [ Test Step 4 - Check the Left Seat Back Position Sensor Supply Circuit
for a Short at Module ]

Test Step 4 - Check the Left Seat Back Position Sensor Supply Circuit for a Short at Module






Turn the ignition OFF.

Measure the resistance of the left seat back position sensor supply circuit to other circuits in the folding seat module C4 harness connector.

Is there any continuity present?

Yes

Repair the left seat back position sensor supply circuit for a short to another circuit.

No

Replace the folding seat module.

Perform Power Folding Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test
