Power Liftgate Module
B210D - Battery Voltage Low
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to.
• When Monitored: At all times.
• Set Condition: Whenever the liftgate is activated, if the voltage is below 10.5 volts, within 15 seconds prior to power operation, this code will set.
Test Step 1 - Check For PCM DTCs
• Ensure the battery is fully charged and serviceable before proceeding.
• With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs.
Are there any PCM DTCs present?
No
• Go to Test Step 2.
Yes
• Refer to symptom list for problems related to engine.
Test Step 2 - Test for an Intermittent Condition
• With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
• Start the engine and run for two minutes.
• With the scan tool, check for DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B210D - Battery Voltage Low?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 3
No
• The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
Test Step 3 - Check the Fused B+ Circuit for an Open or High Resistance
• The test lamp must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
• Turn the ignition OFF.
• Disconnect the power liftgate module C3 harness connector.
• Turn the ignition ON.
• Using a 12 volt test lamp connected to ground, check the fused B+ circuit.
Does the test tight illuminate brightly?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 4
No
• Repair the fused B+ circuit for an open or high resistance.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
Test Step 4 - Check the Ground Circuit for an Open or High Resistance
• The test lamp must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
• Using a 12 volt test lamp, connect one end to the fused B+ circuit and the other end to the ground in the liftgate C3 connector.
Does the test tight illuminate brightly?
Yes
• Replace the power liftgate module.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
No
• Repair the ground circuit for an open or high resistance.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
