Theory of Operation
The Auto headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM) is also known as the High Intensity Discharge Translator (HIDT) and they reside in the right headlamp assembly.
• When Monitored: Continuously with the ignition on and headlamps turned on
• Set Condition: The code will set if the Auto Headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM) detects an internal failure
Test Step 1 - Verify DTC B2283-AUTO HEADLAMP LEVELING MODULE (AHLM) INTERNAL IS ACTIVE
• If a DTC is set, erase the DTC and attempt to reset the DTC. If the DTC resets, follow test.
• This is an internal Auto Headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM/HIDT) module failure
• View repair

• Replace the Auto Headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM/HIDT) in accordance with the Service Information.
