B2339 - Horn Switch Stuck - Without EVIC
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to.
• When Monitored: Continuously.
• Set Condition: When the cluster senses the horn switch input for over 30 seconds, this code will set.
Test Step 1 - Test For Intermittent Condition
• With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
• Operate the horn switch several times.
• Cycle the ignition from on to off 3 times.
• Turn the ignition ON.
• With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B2339 - Horn Switch Stuck - Without EVIC?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 2 => [ Test Step 2 - Horn Switch Shorted ]
No
• The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
• Perform Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non
- DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
Test Step 2 - Horn Switch Shorted
To avoid personal injury or death, turn the ignition OFF, disconnect the battery and wait two minutes before proceeding.
• Disconnect the horn switch connector.
• With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
• Cycle the ignition from on to off 3 times.
• Turn the ignition ON.
• With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display Horn Switch Stuck?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 3 => [ Test Step 3 - Steering Control Module Shorted ]
No
• Replace the horn switch.
• Perform Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non
- DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
Test Step 3 - Steering Control Module Shorted
• Disconnect the steering control module C2 connector.
• With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
• Cycle the ignition from on to off 3 times.
• Turn the ignition ON.
• With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display Horn Switch Stuck?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 4 => [ Test Step 4 - Horn Switch Sense Shorted to Radio Control MUX Return ]
No
• Inspect the steering control module horn switch pigtail harness for a shorted condition, if OK replace the steering control module.
• Perform Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non
- DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
Test Step 4 - Horn Switch Sense Shorted to Radio Control MUX Return
• Turn the ignition OFF.
• Disconnect the cluster C2 and C3 connector.
• Measure the resistance between horn switch sense and the radio control MUX return circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
Yes
• Repair the horn switch sense circuit for a short to radio control MUX return circuit.
• Perform Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non

No
• Go to Test Step 5 => [ Test Step 5 - Horn Switch Sense Shorted to Ground ]

• Measure the horn switch sense circuit to ground.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
Yes
• Repair the horn switch sense circuit for a short to ground.
• Perform Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non

No
• Replace the cluster.
• Perform Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non
