C2205 - Steering Angle Sensor Internal

• When Monitored: With ignition on, but not if supply voltage faults are detected.

• Set Condition: If the Anti-Lock Brake Module detects that the Steering Angle Sensor sends an internal failure message.






Test Step 1 - CHECK FOR A DTC C2205-STEERING ANGLE SENSOR INTERNAL

• This DTC must be active for the results of this test to be valid.

• Turn the ignition on.

• With the scan tool, read and record DTCs.

• With the scan tool, read and record Environmental Data to help identify the conditions in which the DTC was set.

• With the scan tool, erase DTCs.


Ensure brake capability is available before road testing.

• Start the vehicle and turn the wheel from lock to lock.

• Test drive the vehicle by turning the vehicle left or right in a curving manner at a velocity between 10 and 25 km/h (6 and 15 mph).

• Park the vehicle.

• With the scan tool, read and record DTCs.

Does the scan tool display: C2205-STEERING ANGLE SENSOR INTERNAL?

Yes

• Replace the Clockspring..

• Perform ABS Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC

No

• Perform the ABS Intermittent Condition Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. ABS Intermittent Condition Test
