Power Liftgate Switch, Overhead Console
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Trim removal wedge (RMCP101)
Removing
- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Using (RMCP101) disengage the clips at the front edge of the overhead console (1).
- Once the front edge is released use your fingertips to grasp the sides of the overhead console (2) and pull straight down evenly to disengage the remaining two clips from the mounting bracket.
- Lower the overhead console far enough to access the wire harness connectors.
- If equipped, disconnect the courtesy lamps (2), light emitting diode lamp (3), infrared temperature sensor (4) and power sliding door/liftgate switch (1) electrical connectors.
- Remove the overhead console from the vehicle.
- Remove the two power sliding door/liftgate switch screws (4).
- Remove the switch (2) from the overhead console (3).
Installing
• Different overhead console switch bank configurations are available depending on vehicle option content. Ensure the proper switch bank is used when installing a new part.
- Position the power sliding door/liftgate switch (2) onto the front overhead console (3).
- Install the two power sliding door/liftgate switch screws (4).
- Position the front overhead console into the vehicle near the headliner.
- If equipped, connect the courtesy lamps (2), LED lamp (3), infrared temperature sensor (4) and power sliding door/liftgate switch (1) electrical connectors.
- Grasp the sides of the overhead console (2) and push straight up evenly to engage the four snap clips into the mounting bracket above the headliner (7).
- Connect the battery negative cable.
