Front Fender: Service and Repair
Fender
Removing
- Remove the door trim cover.
- Remove the upper bolt (2) from the body at the outside rearview mirror.
- Remove front wheelhouse liner. Refer to=> [ Front Wheelhouse Liner ] Service and Repair.
- Remove the midpoint bolt (2) from the fender (1).
- Remove the fender to fascia nuts.
- Separate the fascia from fender.
- Remove the outboard cowl panel/fender bracket screw and antenna (right side only).
- Remove fender bolts (2) to the lower rocker panel.
- Remove the hood. Refer to => [ Hood ] Service and Repair.
- Remove the bolts attaching fender to upper rail (2).
- Remove fender (1) from vehicle.
Installing
- Place fender (1) into position on vehicle.
- From inside engine compartment, install the top fender bolts in sequence. install all the bolts attaching the fender to upper rail (2) and tighten in sequence shown to 12.5 Nm (9 ft lbs).
- Install the fender (1) to rocker panel bolt (2) and tighten to 12.5 Nm (9 ft lbs).
- Install the midpoint fender bolt (2) to the body and tighten to 12.5 Nm (9 ft lbs).
- Install the upper attachment bolt (2) to the body and tighten to 12.5 Nm (9 ft lbs).
- Install the door trim cover.
- Install and align the fascia to the fender. Tighten the bolts to 5.5 Nm (49 in lbs).
- Install the hood. Refer to => [ Hood ] Service and Repair.
- Install outboard cowl panel/fender bracket screw and install antenna (right side only).
- Install front wheelhouse panel. Refer to => [ Front Wheelhouse Liner ] Service and Repair.
- Check fender for flush and gap.
