Leg Retractor Spring

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim Removal Wedge (RMCP101)

Removing

- Fold the seat into the floor.

- Fold all of the second and third row seats into the floor.

- Remove the rear seat to floor carpet cover by disengaging the clips, starting from the inboard clip and working towards the outboard clip.

- Place the 2 trim removal wedges (RMCP101), in each leg as shown to keep the legs from folding out of the seat (1).

- Rotate the seat up to approximately a 20 to 45° angle (1) so that the tension is removed from the spring (2) and cable.

- Using locking needle nose pliers (1), remove the spring from the floor attaching bracket (3). Once the bracket end is loose, remove the spring from the cable end. Continue holding the cable end. The seat must remain at the 20 to 45° angle (2) and the leg on the outboard side of the seat must be held down to keep slack in the cable.

Installing

- Attach the new spring to the cable.

- Attach the spring (1) at the bracket (3). The seat must remain at the 20 to 45° angle (2) and the leg on the outboard side of the seat must be held down to keep slack in the cable.

Do not use pliers to attach the spring to the bracket. Damage to the spring may occur. There should be enough slack in the cable to attach the spring using your hands.

- Fold the seat down into the floor.

- Remove the 2 trim removal wedges (RMCP101), from the legs.

- Install the floor carpet cover.
