Electric Vacuum Pump

Description






• Only the 3.6L engine has an electric vacuum pump.

On the 3.6L engine there is an electric vacuum pump (1) located on the left side of the engine. The vacuum pump (1) has one electrical connector (3) on a pigtail connected to the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is secured to the engine with two bolts (2).

The vacuum pump (2) mounts to the bracket with two rubber insulated studs (4) to reduce vibration. The vacuum hose has a quick-connect type end (1) with a locking tab at the vacuum pump (2).






Operation

Control of the vacuum pump is provided by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). A two wire electrical connector is used to receive power and ground for the vacuum pump. Operating voltage is between 9V - 16V.
