Engine Oil Pressure Test

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Oil Pressure Gauge (VAG 1342)

• Adapter (8406)








Check the oil pressure using a gauge at the oil pressure switch location (1).

- Remove the oil pressure switch (1). Refer to => [ Oil Pressure Switch ] Service and Repair.

- Install the adapter (8406) into the oil pressure switch location.

- Install the oil pressure gauge (VAG 1342) to the adapter (8406).


If the oil pressure is 0 at idle, DO NOT run engine at 3000 RPM.

- Warm the engine to normal operating temperature.

- Monitor the oil pressure gauge readings at idle and at 3000 RPM. For specifications. Refer to => [ Oil Pressure Specifications ] [1][2]Engine Oil Pressure.
