Headlamp Leveling Sensor, Front

Removing

- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Tools and Equipment.

- Raise and support the vehicle.

- Locate the front headlamp leveling sensor (1) from within the left front fender wheel house.






- Disconnect the vehicle wire harness connector (4) from the connector receptacle for the sensor.

- Remove the bolt (3) that secures the sensor link lower mounting bracket to the left front lower control arm.

- Remove the bolt (2) that secures the sensor mounting bracket to the left end of the front suspension crossmember.

- Remove the sensor, mounting brackets and link from the vehicle as a unit.

Installing

- Position the sensor (1), mounting brackets and link from within the left front wheel house as a unit.






- Position the sensor upper mounting bracket to the left end of the front suspension crossmember. Be certain to engage the anti-rotation tab of the bracket into the anti-rotation hole in the crossmember.

- Install and tighten the bolt (2) that secures the mounting bracket to the front suspension crossmember. Tighten the bolt securely.

- Position the sensor link lower mounting bracket to the left front lower control arm. Be certain to engage the anti-rotation tab of the bracket into the anti-rotation hole in the lower control arm.

- Install and tighten the bolt (3) that secures the sensor link lower mounting bracket to the left front lower control arm. Tighten the bolt securely.

- Reconnect the vehicle wire harness connector (4) to the connector receptacle for the sensor.

- Lower the vehicle.

- Reconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Tools and Equipment.
