Removing






• When servicing the oil filter, avoid deforming the filter can. Install the remove/install tool band strap against the base lock seam. The lock seam joining the can to the base is reinforced by the base plate.

- Using a suitable oil filter wrench, remove and discard the oil filter (3).

Installing






- Wipe the oil cooler base clean, then inspect the gasket contact surface.

- Lubricate the seal of the new oil filter (1) with clean engine oil.

- Install and tighten the new filter (1) to 16 Nm (12 ft lbs) after the gasket contacts the cooler. Use a filter wrench if necessary.

- Start the engine and check for leaks.
