Front A/C Pressure Transducer

Front A/C Pressure Transducer

It is not necessary to discharge the refrigerant system to replace the A/C pressure transducer.

Removing

- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

- Remove the air cleaner housing and inlet duct from the engine compartment.

- Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the A/C pressure transducer (2) located on the top of the A/C receiver/drier (3).

- Remove the A/C pressure transducer from the A/C receiver/drier and remove and discard the O-ring seal.

Installing

Replacement of the O-ring seal is required anytime an A/C pressure transducer is removed. Failure to replace the rubber O-ring seal may result in a refrigerant system leak.

- Lubricate a new rubber O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil and install it onto the fitting on top of the A/C receiver/drier (3). Use only the specified O-ring seal as it is made of special material for R-134a. Use only refrigerant oil of the type required for the A/C compressor.

- Install the A/C pressure transducer (2) onto the fitting. Tighten the A/C pressure transducer to 5.6 Nm (50 in lbs).

- Connect the wire harness connector (1) to the A/C pressure transducer.

- Install the air cleaner housing and inlet duct.

- Connect the negative battery cable.
