Rear Wheel Housing Trim

without Rear Side Airbag

• Removal and installation is described for the left-hand side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for the right-hand side is performed in the same manner.

Removing

- Move the left rear bench seat as far forward as possible.

- Remove the pressure knob - 1 -.

- Pull the trim out of catches the wheelhouse.





Installing

• Before installing, check the mounting elements and replace if necessary.

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

- Make sure, that the trim is placed in the in the door seal tubing.

with Rear Side Airbag

• Removal and installation is described for the left-hand side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for the right-hand side is performed in the same manner.

Removing

CAUTION!
Observe safety precautions for working on airbags.

- Disconnect vehicle battery.

- Move the left rear bench seat as far forward as possible.

- Remove airbag emblem - 1 - and remove screw - 2 - (4.5 Nm).

- Remove the pressure knob - 3 -.

- Remove cover cap - 4 - and remove bolt - 5 - (4.5 Nm).





- Pull the trim out of catches the wheelhouse.

CAUTION!
Electrostatic discharges can lead to an unintended deployment of the airbag. Therefore the technician must discharge static electricity from the body before separating the ignition and ground wiring. This is done e.g. by briefly touching the body or the door striker or pin.

- Press the connector lock and disconnect the harness connector from the side airbag.

- Remove the rear side airbag trim - 1 - from the vehicle.





Installing

• Before installing, check the mounting elements and replace if necessary.

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

• When re-installing, airbag emblem must be replaced.

- Make sure, that the trim is placed in the in the door seal tubing.
